My iPod Stephen died of a hardware error last December (for those of you who don't know), and I had to get a new one (left). For some reason, this made me want to gather the iPods together to mourn his death. The casket is a necklace-box from one of my sister's Christmas presents, which incidentally was perfectly sized for the iCorpse.
I didn't really have many angles to shoot this... neither of the nanos can stand up on their own, which is why I had to prop them against the fireplace. It had good light, though, and I think overall makes a nice background. =3
I don't know how you would critique a photograph... but if there's anything wrong here, point it out? ^.^; But be constructive.
im sorry to hear about your ipod D:
it's taken at a good angle though, and it's pretty well balanced. I honestly don't know about the whole "more iPods" thing, though. You want your eyes to be drawn to something specific, in the photo there are already 3 things to focus on.
on the other hand, if it were a bunch of iPods that looked the same (or in the same two styles as the ones that are propped up) and they all faced the 'casket' you would make the iPod in the casket the ONLY focus of the picture, which would look -really- good.
sorry, I'm talking too much. I lol'ed at the picture
But I couldn't recall an open-casket funeral in which that'd been done.
Clever idea too.
Some might argue the framing should be more inclusive, but I think the "edge chopping" gives it a "snapshot at a funeral" feel.
The low light and black grate background are ominous.
More iPods, some flowers maybe, something that indicates a more funereal feel (adapted to technology).
You may be on to a whole conceptual idea series here.
Unfortunately, what you see here are the only iPods at my immediate disposal.
I should gather some supplies at some point, and maybe take some more. I plan to keep Stephen's remains, so that part won't be an issue. :3
